Tons of potential with this one. All steel and everything is in pretty good shape, but the truck was built quite a few years ago and isn't up to todays standards.
The truck still has its original frame and with 70 plus years under its belt, a crack here and there is pretty common, cut out the bad areas and add some new metal along with some boxing and it will be up to a bunch more years of abuse.
The focus on the chassis is to do any repairs that are nessesary, box the front and rear frame rails and correct any suspension and steering geometry problems. The x member is in need of some attention and a new trans mount will need to be fabricated.
As you can see the x member was cut up a bit and will need to be fixed and reinforced.
The front dropped axle was installed correctly but it has some bump steer issues to correct.
The front rails are cleaned up and ready to be boxed.
The rear rails have had nuts welded in place for body mounts and fuel tank then they were step boxed.
Front shot of frame before repairs were made.
Here is the frame after repairs and a new trans crossmember, new rear shock mounts and a little paint.
